These are photo's of my best friend Brian and his husband Nathan.....
Music:
I like all types of music. My musical influences are ecclectically comprised. I grew up with country--Garth brooks, Mary Chappin Carpenter, Reba McEntire but that really doesn't float my boat any longer. It was forced upon me in my youth. Now I can handle the older western music only, some of it I like and some of it makes me laugh.--EIGHTIES ROCK--Tom Petty, Queen, Lionel Richie, Cyndi Lauper, Poison, Billy Joel, Styxx, REO and these I dig more than ever--and I grew to appreciate all musical genres: Classical--my appreciation leans toward string not brass.--, POP--Cher, Madonna, Not Brittney--, ROCK Especially-Mellisa Etheridge and Bonnie Raitt, but also Metallica and Live. Again mostly older music, the new rock is total shite--, old school soul--Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald--, Motown Diva's--Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross--, and Techno/Dance--Scissor Sisters, Pet Shop Boys, Daft Punk, etc.
Movies:
Comedy is my favorite movie catagory. Some of my favorite movies are First Wives Club, Exit to Eden, Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, It's in the Water, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, etc. I also like action/suspence movies, and some sci-fi like Jurrasic Park and the Mummy. I could go on and on about movies.
Television:
I am a sitcom junky and I love crime shows. Rosanne, Grace Under Fire, Will and Grace, Reba, Law and Order, CSI, Bones, and I also like reality shows like Project Runway, Top Chef, and shear genious(I know its sad), and of course let's not forget the L-Word.
Books:
Love to read but don't have a favorite genre or author.
Heroes:
I have been a fan of Melissa Etheridge since before I knew that either one of us was a lesbian. Most people think that it is cliche if you are a gay woman and like her music. I find comfort and empowerment in her lyrics. I also admire her bravery. She is a revolutionary figure in the gay community, coming out without regard to societal opposition or the effect on her career. And most recently, her bravery in her fight with breast cancer (which I watched my grandmother endure). She has also proven that you can be successful and have a family life, which are both important to me (the latter being of higher priority of course).
