Sparkly pink glitter in a black and white life

About Me

First of all, I love to laugh. Life is too short not to be silly. I'm a born joker, with a sardonic, sarcastic sense of humor. I guess you could call me a loner in a lot of ways, not really "lonely" but I just don't mind being by myself. I'm a nightowl, a chronic insomniac who has just stopped fighting it and given in. I'm goofy and sometimes can be a real dork =).

My Interests

I am kind of fanatical about my dog Maris, a tiny black Italian greyhound. She's like my child (yes, I'm one of THOSE people). Horses were my life for years and would love to start riding again. I have no horses at all in my life, and lately I feel like a piano player without a piano! My next big dream is to get to Paris. I think I even want to go ALONE! My favorite artist is my virtual doppelganger Kristy Olsen, (see my MySpace friends to check her out) whose art is so close to my heart - it's what *I* would do if I could paint!) I am also obsessed with true crime, seek out haunted houses/places and am a little warped when it comes to all things macabre. Ok, a LOT warped. So what.

I'd like to meet:

People who like to laugh and have FUN! Make every day an adventure. Even McDonalds is good if you eat it on the beach!

Music:

I'm currently grooving to N's new project, Perry Farrell's Satellite Party. Perry just gets trippier, but it's something new, anyway. It's hard to tear me away from Dramagods, Extreme or any of Nuno's music, but I'm also a big Aerosmith/Joe Perry fan from way back. A rocker girl at heart, I do like some rap (esp. 90's) - and I don't mean the neutered, processed crap from the radio and Mtv. That said, I will admit I just downloaded 3 Andy Gibb hits off of itunes...go figure.

Movies:

Really liked The Departed. Scarface (classic!), Blow, Wonderland, Drugstore Cowboy (anyone ever see it? No, huh?), Requiem for a Dream (No?), Buffalo 66, that amazing Basketball Diaries (odd movies = odd girl?) Boogie Nights, Casino, Goodfellas, Awakenings, Taxi Driver....you know, the usual...Huge DeNiro fan.

Television:

I was obsessed with The Sopranos and am ready to whack Tony mySELF after that lame finale. Entourage reminds me of my "power days" back in Hollywood, looveddd Six Feet Under (RIP Nate - you were "too pure for this world" ;) & those warped MFs on Big Love - I sound like a commercial for HBO! I am a student of "the school of A&E" (If Bill Kurtis says it, I believe it) and have watched enough true-crime solving shows to commit the perfect murder. Reno 911 and The Soup make me laugh so hard I spit pepsi - I luvvv Jim Dangle! I'm wayyy over network drama crap like ER and CSI, but my guilty pleasures include mindfluffy shows like corny Dog the Bounty Hunter (and I do NOT look like BETH!!), Mtv & Vh1 crap, People's Court... the cheesier the better! Insomniacs don't have a lot of choices at 3:46am.

Books:

Anything in the true crime section (you know, the black covers with the blood red titles?) I'm a compulsive reader, I read 4 or 5 books at a time, plus magazines, the back of the cereal box and the directions on the shampoo bottle. I like biographies, too, favorites being Aerosmith's Walk This Way, the late Danny Sugerman's Wonderland Ave. or Jim Carroll's Basketball Diaries. Fiction doesn't hold my attention. Why read fiction when true life is so much more interesting?

Heroes:

My mom, definitely.... She's an amazing, strong woman - 'nuff said. Love you, Mom!Ok, I won't admit it, but my BABY brother Boyd, too. I'm proud of him for waiting for the right girl, marrying her, buying a house, having Aidan & Jake and still having the stomach for the bar biz.

My Blog

So....it's 2006. Life is good.

Good riddance to 2005! Don't let the proverbial door hit you in the ass on the way out!  It left in a storm, and cold as a witch's t*t.  Could it have SUCKED any more????   It's almost ...

Some thoughts on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is one of those high-pressure holidays like New Years Eve. It's one high-expectation plan making, one that usually leaves you somewhat flat. I'm skipping all that this year. It's ...

Blissfully bored or blissfully boring?

Here it is, 4:52am, nothing new for me. I love the stillness of this time of the night. I'm listening to this Nuno data disc Kristy gave me - enjoying it and appreciating her for it. Not working i...
