Dan Turnbull was born in Boston in 1980. He grew up in Wayland, Massachusetts before studying writing and poetics at Hampshire College in Western Massachusetts, and at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Since then he has continued with writing/poetics/and music while working several jobs from the spans of 3 years to 3 weeks- including multiple tenures at the Framingham State College Bookstore. Go Rams! ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- Dan Turnbull's sounds are a highly successful hybrid of modern and alternative rock, but nevertheless retain overtones of classical 50’s and 60’s rock-defining Americana sound. Within this context of hybrid, Turnbull produces a charming yet rough-around-the-edges music that captures the best elements of past and present rock music. His lyrics deserve special note, given their capturing originality and the wide array of subjects he delves into. Throughout the awesome, kaleidoscopic range of his themes and the emotions they evoke run the threads of classic Americana electric guitar sound and a brute, frank and at times random honesty, which tie the music together and provide a compelling and profound picture of the society and culture out of which his uniquely flavored music has arisen.(BuddhaManReviews)
