Band Website: can you build us one?
Band Members: Rat Bastard, Jafukkin, and the Flamboyant Johnson. AKA MB, DH, and JL.
Influences: Crazy people, peeling paint, police evasion, stupid Eugene bike theives, low wages, communication troubles, inevitable death, expensive beer, cheap prom date, why does modest mouse piss me off? Summers full of vitamin B and headaches, broken glass, splinters from cedar fencing, Dave's overweight and violent cat, The Chi-Mo van (driven by Holst AKA asshole), busted tail lights, sparks can, cow on orange juice container, girls who buy our drinks, Mexican roadblocks, Do you have a boyfriend? Hearing loss, liberation from oppressive U.S. forces inside our borders, death penalty for sexual predators, where did you get your hat? He split in two and began fighting himself in front of the Fox & Firkin, please keep your voice down during the funeral, never play a wedding.
Sounds Like: Music is music. It is good or bad, and it depends on who you are and what your tastes are. Music is God, the devil, and everything in between. It exists as its own element, seeping into our lives like spilled coffee on a napkin. Music is a means to express things that can't just be said. It is a way for us to reach out to one another and say "Yes, you aren't alone". For some, music is just part of a laundry list of compulsive behavior. That would likely be where I fall in, though there is more to it than just the repetition of it all. In time, music may change, and affect my life differently. In case of emergency, break glass. This is an emergency. Music is an emergency.

Being unstoppable. Got a name?

I figured out recently that I am unstoppable. No matter how hard I have tried to mess things up lately, I just can't do it. Everything always ends up working out for the best, even if it doesn't seem ...

the shitty parts of Christmas

You know what I hate about Christmas? Having to buy so many different people presents. Where do you draw the line? I had to make a plan on how to buy and who for first, just to make sure I didn't tap ...

Portland chaos

So, I finally got a chance to leave town for a bit. Granted, it was only for a weekend, but it was a great time. I rode with my friend Kristine to Portland, as she was dropping of her friend Penny to ...

Facing addiction

I know I should control myself, but I keep buying more and more musical gear. Granted, I always get great deals, but I need to figure out how to justify all of this spending. Last month, I spent every...

A history of Ego Machine.

Every now and then, I get questions about the band, how it came to be, and so on. So, here is a history of the band, just in case anyone was wanting to know. Back in the 1990's, I (jerry aka jinx) met...

I have yet to understand.

Life is killing us all. We all die sooner or later. Death does not come suddenly, but through a more constant and gradual process. Each moment past is a little bit of death, therefore, each moment in ...
