About Me

Let me begin by stating that no, I do not use Facebook. Let us disregard that it’s pretentious, perplexing and above all, rather annoying; I do not enjoy the prospects of corporations holding and selling my information.
Now that that’s out of the way, allow me to introduce myself, I am Tim. Is that my real name? I hear you asking. Allow me to say this: it is my preferred name, thus, my real name.
Another thing I feel I should mention before we venture much further; I can be quite pernickety when it comes to spelling and grammar, to the point where I may correct you. It is in no way meant to be condescending. It is a habit which I cannot overcome and if that offends you, I am sorry. No, I take that back. It’s not my fault you cannot use correct English and that I can. I don’t mean to sound pretentious, we all slip up at times, even myself, I do admit. Also, please refrain from talking to me if you are one of these kids; “OhH eMm GgEe YoU’Re LyKe ToTaLlY GaW-jUsS!”…That’s not amusing in the slightest. In fact, I don’t know if the aim of writing that way is for amusement. I also don’t think that I care enough to know. Just don’t talk to me if that’s how you ‘talk’ (write). It irritates me. Again, I cannot help it.
I’m an art student. I think that speaks for itself, or perhaps it doesn’t, but I know that it is generally followed by a certain stigma with which I may or may not find certain qualities to identify myself with. Either way, whatever I may or may not tell you about myself is, in most cases, not going to bare much influence on how you perceive me. That’s fine and in fact a good thing, because I could tell you right now that I am the President of the island of San Lorenzo. If you were to take my word as gospel, that would be quite distressing, considering there is no such island, nor am I the president of it. However, if you understand the (small) reference I just made, perhaps we may have something in common.
This is probably the part where I should say that I like music and how it is my life and blah blah blah- whatever. It’s the 21st century; there is nothing profound or mind-blowing about listening to music or in fact the need to listen to it 24/7. For most people, it is habitual, nothing more- having said that, I am one of those people. Conversely, I have been known to go for days with no audio stimulus whatsoever. Sometimes it is nice to sit (or in fact walk) in the quiet and think. Do I play music? I am so glad you asked! Yes I do, again, nothing awe-inspiring there. Out of my own hubris (a mostly useless quality, I find) I feel that I should inform you; I’m a guitarist. I also play trumpet and have been known to pick up a bass or attempt to play the piano. The latter of which may require some further practice, for which I own a keytar (that is currently non-functional).
Having run out of arbitrary babble, I’ll leave you with these quotes that this page seems to have accumulated over the past 4.5 years it has existed.
"May all that have life be delivered from suffering" - Buddha
"Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect, and I don't live to be; but before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean" - Bob Marley
"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain!" - Bob Marley
"Auschwitz begins wherever someone looks at a slaughterhouse and thinks: they're only animals." - Theodor Adorno
"I think, therefore I am." - René Descartes
"Life is life- whether in a cat, or dog or man. There is no difference there between a cat or a man. The idea of difference is a human conception for man's own advantage." - Sri Aurobindo
"I'll be a genius... Perhaps I'll be despised and misunderstood, but I'll be a genius, a great genius." - Salvador Dalí.
"As often as Herman had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same thought: in their behaviour toward creatures, all men were Nazis. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplified the most extreme racist theories, the principle that might is right." - Isaac Bashevis Singer
