Temujin Scott, born in the 80's, raised in Brooklyn, New York. From the time I could sit up, I remember hearing music. I was mesmerized by the sounds. I sat countless hours on the couch bouncing to the beat.
By age 4, I was singing in the house. With the encouragement of my father and mother (who were also singers), I pursued anything musical in grade school. In junior high school, I performed my first solo and realized how comfortable and natural it felt to sing for people.
I attended Midwood High School in Brooklyn and there I continued my activities in music. I performed with the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, competed in Act-So (singing competition), performed in various productions by the Black Heritage Alliance Showcases where I soloed songs from Aint Misbehavin' ''The Wiz'' and ''Dreamgirls'' and in others, portrayed Luther Vandross and Sam Cooke; participated in SING (musical/acting competition); sang in the Gospel and Mixed Choruses; and was a member of The All City Chorus of New York City.
Upon graduation, I continued my music, singing throughout the New York City area at The Groove, The Cafe Wha, The Soul Cafe, The Triad, Nells and Club 101 (live r&b/funk clubs). I have also sung background for up and coming artists in New York and Virginia and was a featured vocalist with a local funk band by the name of EKB and have also done extensive studio work with local producers in Brooklyn.
I plan to pursue a career as a recording artist and eventually produce and write my own material. I aspire to have a long and rewarding career, singing music that is relevant and meaningful to those listening.
