The Smashed is a streetpunk/ garage band from Manchester, has been playin' since '00, has been on hiatus and is now back to hit the streets with a vengeance.
Story:
With the punk scene at the time seeming to be on the decline and all the old punks and skins moving off to hardcore or off to rockabilly/psychobilly, the Smashed was formed as a throwback to what good straight forward punk should be.Where's the band, where's the music? Drummers have moved on almost as quickly as they've learned the songs. Joe's playing in a pile of other bands, Dave's playing in other bands, and Mike's got a kid and moved to Ohio. Sara used to handle most of the vocals, now she's running comicstores and record labels and keeping the kid in line. Through all this change over the Smashed has done a handful of shows but never got anything recorded for posterity.
2007 comes around, the Smashed ends up recruiting Joe's older brother Shawn and now as a three piece with Artie and J Paige the Smashed is finally in a position to get back to work. Expect demo recordings to be up on the page this August and a full length in the work for early autumn!
