I am a North Carolina girl living in Texas - Austin to be exact, which is not AT ALL the stereotypical Texas that most people think of. I grew up in Western North Carolina and desperately miss the Fall and all of the leaves changing in the Blue Ridge Mountains:( But I love Austin; it reminds me of Asheville, NC in so many ways - a college town that is alternative/liberal, very outdoorsy with lots of lakes and rolling hills.
