Shortly after graduating from the University of Maryland-College Park, Nucleo Vega received the First Year Secondary School Educator Award for Howard County Maryland 2004. He served as the Arts Director of the Basement Show and Talk Box Magazine from 2004-2006, and currently conducts concert bands, leads Convergence's Jazz at the Vespers, and is a professional drummer and studio musician in the Baltimore-D.C.-VA metro area.
Nuc began playing cello at the early age of 8 and picked up drums at the age of 10. He published his first book, UNDERSTANDING GROOVE FOR DRUM SET, with Mel Bay in August 2006. The book was nominated by Drum Magazine for Best Drum Book of the Year 2006. Nuc just released his new book PARADIDDLES REDEFINED FOR DRUM SET, with Mel Bay 2009!
