About Me

Born in Olongapo, Philippines on January 14, 1984; came to AK around when he was 6 months old. Mike Cee has seen a lot growing up in his small city(or big town) of Anchorage. Mike has always been into urban music since he was able to walk. But was always into anything that caught his ear from Classic Rock, to Classical. His first collection of rap records were mostly West Coast rappers such as Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Spice-1, MAC Dre, E-40, Too Short, 2pac etc. It wasn't until he was in middle school that he finally understood that Hip-Hop was more then just music. How it was a universal culture that you were either a participator, or a spectator. Mike's Hip-Hop collection broaden to artists and groups such as Gangstarr, Blackstar, Common, Eyedea and Abilities, Aceyalone, MC Juice, Eminem, Cocoa Broavaz, Arsonists, Non-Phixion, Necro, Brooklyn Academy, Jedi Mind Tricks. Because of special mixtapes that he used to receive from other Hip-Hop heads on the internet.

Having learned that each of the 4 elements of Hip-Hop are skills that took time and dedication to practice. Mike shared this understanding of Hip-Hop with his best friend; whom he knew since they were both toddlers, Davy-D and Mike Cee started writing raps in middle school. Davy-D had a Playstation game called MTV Music Generator that he would use to make beats. Davy-D used this game not knowing it was a fundamental learning tool on how to make beats so he would "play" the game chopping any breaks/melodies from any CD. The format of the video game was very similar of Fruity Loops. Davy-D learned tricks from other local artists on how to use Fruity Loops and his skills elevated rapidly.

They were able to finally record music even though all they had a was a computer and a computer mic. They made due with whatever they got and had a good buzz around town from burning CD's of 3 songs around 2002 that they passed around town under the group Cold-Fuzion. Cold-Fuzion's members consist of Davy-D, Mike Cee, and Fureal. Bustin' freestyles at every party, cyphers sometimes would turn into serving sessions. The crew knew that they were the cream of the crop when it comes to skills as a Hip-Hop force in Anchorage even though they were extremely slept on. Cold-Fuzion released a self-titled EP(with more decent equipment) in the winter season of 2006 that received 3 stars in the Anchorage Daily News next to John Legend who received 3 1/2 stars.

Having to disband the Cold-Fuzion crew due to personal differences. Davy-D and Mike Cee formed another crew called Chronically Ill, named after one of their tracks that Davy-D and Mike Cee created. Chronically Ill is on their way to release an album soon. As of now Mike Cee is trying to make himself known to be one of the most talented emcees that AK has by battling whomever and whenever; and attending open mics or rippin' cyphers where ever possible. Davy-D will always be perfecting his skills as a lyrical beat smith.
