William Bynums understanding and passion for the art of music and sound began at the young age of 13 when he began installing stereo systems at a car audio shop. His expertise of circuitry and sound production further developed over the next seven years of installing slamming sound systems that created havoc on the streets, much like the dance floor when DJ Billy B takes control of the decks.
Bynums interest in electronic dance music (EDM) began in 1999, when he first began attending all night dance parties. His love for electronic music and the scene was apparent from this time as he purchased a pair of belt-driven Numark tables after attending just several parties. His ambition at the time was to exert excitement and happiness to the masses of dancers as other DJs had influenced him. Over the following six months, he spent countless hours perfecting the skills of beat matching and mixing. At this time, realization set in that Billy B was enthusiastic and serious about advancing and evolving his DJ career, so he invested in the industry standard Technic 1200 wheels of steel. Countless hours were spent mastering the skills of beat matching, mixing, and developing an arsenal of tricks to rock the decks and whoo the masses!
After spending two years trying to make a name for himself by playing house parties and any gig that would allow him to display his skills, Billy B stormed onto the Midwest scene with an impressive and awing display at the inaugural Columbus DJ Battle. He entered the competition as a virtually unknown, but was the topic of the town by the end of the night! Following the battle, requests for DJ Billy B began to pour in as promoters and fans were exposed to his talent and the hype intensified.
He was signed to the well-respected talent management and event promotion company, GSP, in May of 2003. His fan base continues to grow throughout the Midwest and East Coast as Billy B has rocked crowds in Texas, Flordia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio. He has played alongside the likes of legendary acts such as Frankie Bones, Adam X, Heather Heart, Venom, Bam Bam, Trevor Lamont, Starscream, Angel Alanis, Grey Area, Faust & Shortee, Josh the Funky1 and Forrest Green. Having headlined events in Flordia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Cleveland, and Cincinatti respect for this DJ has grown immensely. This has expanded his contacts and helped Billy B become a premiere artist in the EDM scene.
