The Midnight Shows

About Me

Combining the essence of Soul and Motown with Rock n Roll's energy, The Midnight Shows created a new category of music defying categorization. This is an affair between grace and groove, celebrating the influences of Curtis Mayfield, the Isley Brothers and James Brown with the raw urgency of The Replacements, The Ramones and The Clash. Lead singer & guitar player Rudy Montclare, Jeff Neville on Fender Rhodes & Synthesizer, Steve Litos on bass and Kevin Martensen on drums & percussion, are joined by the sultry Midnight Sisters to create a sound that shimmers like moonlight on clouds. The band's premiere album, aptly titled "Appetite for Seduction", is layered with songs that will melt your inhibitions - and a welcome seduction it is. With driving rhythms overlaid by smooth soul vocals, the sound has a sassy strut that grinds and shakes to its sexy core. Montclare's songwriting takes you on an unforgettable ride. Think of Mick Jagger's invincible swagger across Prince's seductive haze and you have "You Fit So Right Tonight". The tracks "Lets Make Ready" and "City Girls" bring the Motown sound into the 21st Century. "Cmon Get To This" is a sweet yet slutty ballad that turns a one night stand into a shivering romantic ache. The hard groove of "It's My Love" connects 70's soul to modern R & B. Call it retro modern, these are songs that soar back to solid ground then dance and sweat into the future. From first breath, this is the sound you hope to carry with you until you have the welcome satisfaction of tasting more. The Midnight Shows have discovered what it sounds like to make music glow. MyspaceLayouts
