About Me

I'm still learning about me (and my "self") so one is better off making up their own mind.

My Interests

Atlanta Braves baseball, reading, writing, journaling, fishing (though I may be the worst angler in the world), random road-trips, cooking on the grill, and watching high school sports.

I'd like to meet:

My close friends for dinner and a nice glass of wine. The idea of it makes me smile.

Music:

I like a variety of music--from Paul Wall and Mike Jones to Death Cab for Cutie (thanks, Clark) to the flavorful Texas Country of folks like Kevin Fowler and the Randy Rogers Band. When I study I enjoy the likes of Johann Strauss II--specifically, Die Fledermaus (The Bat).

Movies:

Lonesome Dove, Open Range, Malcolm X, and Man on Fire to name a few. Movies are playing an increasingly larger role in my spiritual pilgrimage.

Television:

The Today Show (no, really), CSI, Sports Center, Baseball Tonight (during the season, of course), and almost anything on the History or Discovery Channels.

Books:

Anything concerning religion, theology, biblical studies, anthropology (specifically, socio-cultural anthropology), and philosophy are my proverbial cup of tea.

Heroes:

(Forgive the soapbox) Has not this word lost meaning in this post-September 11th world? I think so. In my estimation, given the perspective that anyone can be--and potentially is--a hero then why bother mentioning those I hold in high regard. Frankly, the emptiness found in the noun 'hero' is far to small for these individuals.
