The Bank Holidays

About Me

Oh Daylight (filmclip - 2007)
Who ever said that dancing and architecture were unrelated? Pop music is workman's stuff, a trade no different from carpentry or construction, except the teamsters are slightly more svelte and well dressed. A song is as pragmatic as a house, and just as beautiful. The Bank Holidays know this.
Formed in Perth, Australia (but with a Norwegian background), The Bank Holidays are in the business of creating songs filled to the brim with first-rate melody and brilliant 4-part harmony. The group has two EPs out - 'Good Looks To Camera' and 'Day For Night', both released in Australia by the Lost & Lonesome Recording Co. (run by Mark Monnone of The Lucksmiths). These EPs see guitars, drums and voices complemented by orchestral imaginings that add a depth of colour and ambition that most groups lack.
Come October 2007, the group's debut album "As A Film" will give you new reasons to stay at home and loiter closely around your stereo.
On hearing The Bank Holidays, you might think of The Shins, Belle & Sebastian, The Beach Boys, or even The Go-Betweens. You might also think about the melodies in The Bank Holidays' songs weeks after hearing them.
