Lampshade!

About Me

Gosh, I don't know....the usual. I love to tromp around outside in the woods. That sweet-pine-smell the sun makes when it hits the sap or that earthy smell in the northwest woods makes me extremely happy. Northern Arizona and Southern Utah's crazy sculpted red rocks, contrasting green cactus and slot canyons are pretty amazing too. I love to pretend to be a photographer, and write poetry every other year or when I feel inspired by something great. I am also becoming a closet scrap-booker. I love music...almost every genre, but I can usually be found listening to the mellower indie stuff, synth-pop, and of course I must have my dose of 80's new wave, down-tempo electronica, twee, space rock, jazz, trance, trip hop, shoegaze, funk, and baroque when my mood requires them (not usually at the same time, however.) I can never get enough of Erlend Oye...anything he dips his hands in is pure genius. Ah yes, and the Cocteau Twins of course, my life's soundtrack...I know it sounds corny. I am always dreaming of my back-pack trips I will someday take to New Zealand, Finland, Tubingen, Australia, Alaska...all over and anywhere! I hate to fly, but have so many places I want to travel to so I do it anyway. I am a self-proclaimed nerd, or actually dork fits better, as I am a die-hard-can't-help-myself fan of LOTRs and wish I was an elf...but for the most part I am pretty well adjusted. I was a DJ for a po-dunk college town in Montana for a while and loved being able to inflict my wild and obscure (to some anyway) music on country folk. (I love country folk...don't take that the wrong way) Gosh what fun, fond memories! I love the wet, green, misty, mossy, & vibrant northwest...I AM HOME AT LAST!!!! I think I have blabbed for quite long enough. Drop me a line to tell me what a dork I am or that you remember me as a little tyke at Music Company gigs with my folks or what-have-you.CHECK OUT THIS LINK: http://www.storyofstuff.com/................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ .....................Photos of my home in the Northwest:LIFE IN MONTANA:Living Vicariously through Brother Jamie:*******

My Interests

Photography. Exploring. Poetry--I have recently enjoyed Mary Oliver & Marc Fromm. I admit it, I love Scrapbooking & card-making,...no poking fun! Feel-good, artfully done movies. History-geek...yes that's me (that was my minor afterall.) On occasion I'm one of those nerds that goes to the library to check out DVDs on places around the world I'd love to visit, NASA Space stuff, Tornados, Birds, Blue Planet....you know the kind. We used to literally live at the base of the hill where the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff AZ is located. We would go there on a weekly basis to check out nebulae, globular clusters, saturn and such. I love exploring on foot, fly-fishing , old downtowns, strolling art galleries, listening to my music loud in the car by myself on curvy canopied roads (especially the drive around Lake Whatcom and of course Chuckanut Drive), traveling, did I mention exploring, and checking out new places? I LOVE discovering new foods and restaurants (which also means I'm not skinny). I have a little crush on New Zealand. I would love to get a sewing machine and learn how to sew like my Mom, or crochet beautiful scarves and hats like my friend Carrie Ann...ooo and sweaters! Music, without which, it would be a dull world. There is this old movie (if you know which one...send me an email) where a guy says "what are you going to do when you retire?" and the other replies, "listen to music." It used to be considered a sole pass-time. I agree with that. So music, yes...oh they have a slot for that.... (I have this terrible habit of using dots several times in a row......horrible, horrible gramatical habit!)
