About Me

Myspace Graphics
Myspace LayoutsI'm not here to try to add a billion people just to look cool...I'll add people I know, people I knew, and people I really want to know...not just random crazies. Or if you are a random crazy, but you're SUPER-funny and you can prove it...I might add you. Or maybe if you're random, but you like to fish and can give me tips on salt-water fishing out here in the land of undersized, post-radiation fish , that would be cool. Or maybe you're random and not funny, and you don't fish but you can salsa really well (but you don't have a long greasy ponytail down your back) I might add you, too. Or, if you're a non-dancing, non-funny, non-fishing random with an intriguing view on life and our purpose on earth, we could probably be friends. Anyway...if you can enrich my life, I'd love to hear more!

My Interests

Running....I'm even surprised at that one! Air conditioning, Indian food, finding my purpose in life (see how I prioritize??!!), rekindling old flames...then putting them out again, anyone from Huntsville Arkansas...except that crazy guy who did the thing with the cow, fishing, sunning on the beach, learning to surf without getting salt water in my eyes (please tell me this is even possible!!) spelunking (not even kidding...I love it!!) learning to cook a meal without getting every pot and pan I own dirty...help me out, Martha!! Figuring out a way to get home to visit my family in Mississippi without having to trade a kidney for a weekend off... Growing a pair of balls so I can leave bartending and get a 'real' job so my parents won't worry about me so much!! Deciding what I want to spend the rest of my life doing, figuring out exactly how many drinks I can have before I black out, finding a religion I feel is not ultimately about money or headed by sex-crazed hypocrites, getting out of debt without having to actually spend my own money, finding people whom I wholly respect and admire then learning how to be a bit more like them.

I'd like to meet:

Fun people who pique my interest, and combine quirky nerdiness with an acute sense of adventure. Also, if you think it's chic that I'm nearing 30 and am still bartending...then we're sure to hit it off!! Conversely, if you know of a really cool career that requires extensive bartending experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish please pass along the info...I might be interested in shifting careers!

Movies:

The Color Purple, Life is Beautiful, Bobby, Train of Life, Love Me if you Dare, Stranger Than Fiction, The Green Mile, Babel, Driving Miss Daisy, Last of the Mohicans, Goonies, Legends of the Fall, The Neverending Story, Wedding Crashers, Little Miss Sunshine, The Princess Bride, There's Something About Mary, The Spitfire Grill, The Graduate, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Piano, Amelie, A Very Long Engagement, The Return (Russian....very good!!) Malena, Eternal Sunshine, Million Dollar Baby, Forrest Gump, The Sixth Sense, Big Fish, In America, Catch Me if you Can, Frida, Dangerous Liasons, Monsieur Ibrahim, Ghost, Old Yeller, Man in the Moon... There are so many more, I'll have to reminisce a bit and post any others that come to me!

Television:

The Underground!! (effing hilarious! Check it out on ShowTime) Weeds, Cold Case, City Confidential, Sex and the City, House (Hugh Laurie is my Dr. McDreamy!!!) Dancing with the Stars...sorry, but I'm fascinated! Cold Case Files, Anythig dealing with forensics....as long as they don't use reenactments. I want the real thing. The Law and Orders, Flip this House, The First 48, Absolutely Fabulous, I Love Lucy, The Golden Girls, Quantum Leap, M*A*S*H (Alan Alda was such a hottie!)

Books:

I just read "for one more day" I loved it! Read it...or if that's too much to ask, at least call someone you love and remind them of it!

Heroes:

My Nana...She cared for my Tataw at home for the 16 years he battled Alzheimers. We all helped out where we could, but it takes a lot of character and determination to deal with that horrible degeneration all day, every day. My Parents...(of course!) For taking in a scared little girl and giving her the stability of a 2-parent home filled with love and some damned strict rules!

My Blog

I've been tagged...

The rules are: Once you have been tagged you can't be re-tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird random things, facts, or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose 10 people to be tagged an...

And then she went to work in the brick factory, and she lived happily ever after. The End.

This past year has been somewhat an "age of enlightenment" for me.  I have slowly begun to realize that my family's view of me has shifted&d...

Confessions of a Cradle Robber (or how I narrowly escaped a trip to the pokie!)

You may have noticed lately that I've developed a mild (and by mild, I mean severe!) case of distraction.  If you've been to my place of work lately, you will surely have noticed that every 3.8 s...

If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?

While watching the Today show this morning, it was announced that "Borat" would be on the show.  Following this annnouncement were several clips of the lanky, awkwardly-dressed and mustached man....

Sputtering Down the Highway of Life...

Many of you know that I set out today to buy a car.  Some of you got voice mails and text messages asking you to pray for me, as I didn't know if Bessie would make the 20 mile journey.  I th...

Is this why I should take out the trash more than once a year???

So, I'm in the kitchen this morning...brewing up my daily coffee, baking biscuits, cooking sausage, and looking for a knife to slice some nice fresh melon.  Yum!  Great start to a day! And t...
