SEAFOOD: THE MUSICAL! delves into the story of six surfers and surfettes riding a wave of rock'n'roll comedy through swarms of fish-like flesh-eating invaders, to-be celebrities and freak weather patterns, taking it all with absolute innocence and burst-into-song enthusiasm. Completely engaged in the struggle to stay alive, the teenagers are forced to mature, and they learn much about worldly things like disease, and terror as they escape the siege-laden beach house and go straight to the source of this evil alien marine zombie infestation. Who will be hideously killed, and who will find true love? We can't know until you help us make this movie.
Black Forest Films are shooting SEAFOOD: THE MUSICAL! over and around March – April 2007. It will be mainly shot on location on the Surfcoast, near Melbourne.
As this production is entirely independent, with most of the budget coming from people directly involved in the production of the movie. We can't offer a money reward for working with us, but if you are help enough around set we could arrange points in the movie, so you receive money if the movie makes money. We will provide transport to the location from Melbourne if necessary, as well as full catering on shoots, as well as accommodation overnight if that eventuates. We'll be shooting often on weekends, the main crew going up Friday night, and all others by early Saturday morning, either for a day's shoot or, when suiting, over a weekend.
Though we would love it if people did, we don't necessarily need people to volunteer for the entire shoot (which will be probably around 12-15 days of fairly constant shooting), as help even for a day means a better movie can be made. Whether you're into make-up or sound or lighting or assisting in other ways during production or with pre- or post-production, we would be greatly thankful for your help.
You get the incredible experience of working on a set with whatever you choose, your name in the credits, free drinks if we see you at a bar.
The finished movie (as far as release date goes; expect early 2008) will be screened independently, at festivals and sold on DVD in some video stores through independent distribution.
