No more simply known as The Smoke Jumpers, we’ve evolved the name to something more original and personal to us. It’s like this, more and more we realize it’s a crazy, mixed-up digital world. Everything is so connected and easily accessible nowadays in the realm of the internet, ATMs, and giant killer robots! Ok, so maybe I watch too much TV. Lol. Anyways, we found ourselves more and more basically using the page and smokejumperstexas.com as a base of operations for our music making endeavors. We communicate with fans and friends there, and it’s the perfect place for people to check out the music or see videos of happenings around the SmokeJumpersTexasDotCom neighborhood. Why not just combine everything into the name? A nod to the old, the new, the analog, and the digital, it’s a .com world, baby! Fully embracing the internet as an integral part of our musical identity in today’s music scene, we take some control of our digital master, so to speak. So, there you go, we’ve officially tagged the collective group of artists (WildCard, Sach, Mr. Roboto, J.Moe!, and The Mann) as SmokeJumpersTexasDotCom. It’s definitely a conscience decision to clearly separate and distinguish us from any other musical acts out there, and anyways, how many groups have thought of using their web address as their name? The music stays the same eclectic, original, thought-provoking, hard-hitting, and basically just bangin’ hip-hop that everyone knows. We just felt like it gives us even more of our own identity and makes it even that much easier for everyone to get to the base of our musical operations.
