My name is Franklin Park (Frank). I was born and raised in Los Angeles July 9, 1984. I grew up most of my life in Monterey Park, a city next to East LA. I am a Korean American, raised by two hard working parents. I first was introduced to music at a young age, possibly when I was a baby. As my parents were out working hard to make money, I was taken care of my grand uncle as a kid. He listened to music all day, everyday. It was old-school Korean folk music, but music none the less. He even bought me a small keyboard that played kid tunes when I was a preschooler. That would probably be my first influence of why I am doing what I do today. At the second grade, my family moved out of our apartment in Hollywood and moved to a house in Monterey Park. At an early age, I was introduced to pop and rap from my brother. I would try to record my favorite songs off the radio on tape so I could listen to them on my walkman. As the years passed, music just took over my life. And with the introduction of the CD, music just got better. My bro and I would always try and get the latest albums that came out. When my friends hung out, I remember we’d go down to Warehouse Music or Sam Goody and listen to the CDs for free. Even at get-togethers or parties, I remember me and my friend would sit next to the stereo and be in charge of the music. In high school, I was introduced to the drums and guitar. Whenever I could, I would tap on my desk or on the walls of my house. Before I slept, I would bang on my mattress because it made a big bass sound. At the time, I knew I would be good at playing the drums. I got to play a few times with the one we had at school, but it was rare; I wanted one for myself. Drum sets were very expensive so I asked my mom for one. I even constructed a home made set out of glass mugs and boxes and play it in front of my mom to sympathize with me. After agreeing to pay half of the drum set, I had bought my first instrument. As I was busy learning the art of percussion, my friends were into guitars. We were lucky enough to have a guitar class. I learned basic chords and what not, but realized I love the drums more.During my teenage years, I began to experiment in a lot of different things. I began listening to house/trance/techno music and I liked it. I like it so much that I wanted to make my own. My first music based computer program was Rave EJay. Though I had much fun with it, it was very limited. Later on, I was introduced to Fruity Loops, though I did not know anything about MIDI’s or anything studio related. To me, it was just about making music and beats.College was an interesting 4 years for me. I made some cool friends, and all of them just fueled my love for music and making music. My friends and I would have mini sessions where I make the beats and he would free style. Drunken nights always turned into a freestyle frenzy. Also at this time, I had my own guitar and would jam by myself, playing over my own drum beats I made. I took a music class just to learn the basics of music theory. My next door neighbor introduced me to real studio stuff such as MIDI and programs that are industry standards. I learned what sampling was and how music is made in different ways.Four years later, I graduate college. 23 odd years later, here I am now. I look back at my life and see that music has had a great influence in my life. I know there is more out there. I don’t know what I want to do with my life, but I do know it involves music. Right now I have a home studio with the basic equipment, thought I barely know how to use the stuff.I am ready and willing to learn in a professional atmosphere. All the music is in my head. I just need to learn how to get it out. My main goal is to gain experience. Any label or studios who wants to work together or take me under their wing, please contact me. Thank you. Hope you enjoyed reading about me and why all I have is music.
Thanks again.------------------------------------------------------
