About Me

Hello my name is Rich Light. I have spent the last 15 years professionally detailing and operating my own successful detail business. My experience in the detailing business is extensive. I have written detailing articles and given tech sessions for car clubs, car manufactures and independent detail shops.

My passion for cars started very young. My father collected many kinds of cars from classics to exotics. My job was to maintain his vehicles. I started to become very good at polishing and cleaning his vehicles. Word spread quickly about my detail work! Before I knew it I had everyone in the neighborhood bringing there cars to be detailed. I was only 7 years old when I started.

By the time I was 15 there I had a staff of 3 plus me detailing cars in the neighborhood. I continued to detail cars right through college. I had a small mobile detail business while attending college employing 2 other college friends. Business started to explode. Before I knew I had 5 employees.

When I graduated from college I worked for a large corporation. Within 6 months the company went belly up! So in 1990 I started Granite Auto Grooming in Boston, Mass. What I encounter in Boston was harsh winters. As many know that northeast has wicked weather both harsh and damaging on vehicle finish. I searched for the best polish that could withstand harsh damage from Salt and Snow. Through trial and testing I had tried every type of wax and polish on the market. What was most frustrating was the claim to fame from other car care company products. Without luck I could not find one polish or wax that would last more than a month. I started to mix my own chemicals to produce the perfect shine and durability.

I made a decision in 1995 that I was tired of the harsh winters and decided to move my detail business from Boston to Las Vegas. Within a short period of time I encounter a whole set of new problems. No more salt and snow but extreme heat and abrasion. So the chemical mixture I had made in Boston did not work the same in the desert heat. Back to the drawling board I went.

So in 1996 I decided that I was going to have my own polishes and waxes formulated. I hired a chemist to help develop and formulate my own polish and wax system. This was the start of Gloss-it Appearance products. We spent many years perfecting Gloss-it products. Always testing and tweaking these formulas. I would apply the Polish to our customer cars and track for at least 6 months before finding true results. I believe that I have developed the best appearance products for cars, boats, motorcycles and RV.

Many years of hard work has leaded me to the launch gloss-it appearance products. I truly believe that after using gloss-it products you will see the difference between us and the competition. The Secret Visualization Tool
