About Me

This is my second attempt to completely update my profile tonight...Sometimes I really hate Windows Vista and the new version of explorer it just sometimes decides to close up shop and things get lost (like 3 hours of updating work). I know should have hit the 'save' button. blah blah blah :P OK so here goes. My friends will be so proud that I'm changing things up a bit.
Officially I moved from KY to Nashville about a month ago. I had been working in Louisville as an ICU nurse for the past 3 yrs and finally got the cahonas to pick up my roots and do a little travel nursing. Granted I didn't venture too far from home, because the first place I landed was Nashville and have been working at a hospital here since mid May. Baby steps people! :) So far i love living in Nashville, it feels like a place I could actually settle down and truely call home. The plan is to stay here for a few more months and then probably fly to somewhere warm for the winter months. I have a friend and her husband that are transplanting to Hawaii, think they would mind if I set up shop on their couch for a few months? It's a good thing she doesn't have a myspace account *lol* (she's a facebook junkie).
I love music, listening and singing (only when alone or with enough people to drown myself out). Listening to live music is so much fun. For those that know me I love to go to concerts, anything from a small acoustic performance to a large stadium show. People are always asking me how I can go and see the same show multiple times. But the truth is, no show is ever really the same. Yes the musicians might play the same songs, but the people you go with, the city in which the concert is held and the general audience is what makes each show a unique experience. I have met so many wonderful people from different states/countries (you know who you are) through this and I honestly wouldn't want to image what it would be like without meeting them. (cheezy I know)
I'm actually a pretty boring person. I grew up in a small town in Ky named Jabez. It's really not a town more like an ink dot on a map (if your lucky to find it). You have to be careful not to drive to fast around the country curves or forget to slam on the brakes when the woods provide a deadend for the road-otherwise you'll end up swimming in Lake Cumberland. I do miss having a HUGE lake in my backyard and just driving down to dip my toe into the water. You forget how relaxing it can be and how easy the tension and worries can float away. Maybe a trip home would be good. Ooh I wonder if momma would mind doing a little laundry and Granny might even make me her homemade chicken 'n dumplings. Man I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.
You might have already seen that I own a motorcycle, her name is Jezabel. And I will admit that I have been a bad motorcycle mommy, she is currently in Louisville and hasn't been riden for a while. Hopefully one of these days her and I will get the chance to travel along route 66 for a few weeks.

As you read above I love live music, I owe the love of concert going to my favorite musician Jimmy Buffett. I used to like going to shows, but a love realtionship didn't develop until my first Buffett concert. From there I converted and forever will be a Parrothead. Also I love to travel and see Little Big Town perform. It's through them that I have met so many people. Below is a little sampling of their talents. My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I've never really liked to answer this question, because when asked I can never seem to really think of anyone. But honestly there are too many to list and I'm having a brain fart (hard to believe I know). I really don't know if I would want to meet those few peole I look up to, because I wouldn't want to destroy this 'ideal' of what they are like and who likes to to take chances on being disappointed.

There are a few people here in Nashville that i would like to meet, just because I think the evening would be enjoyable! A few weeks ago a friend and I were lucky enough to be one of the last few to squeeze into 3rd & Lindsley to watch a performance by Jeffrey Steele. I have been wanting to see this guy perform for 6 years now and it's never worked out. If you don't know he is an incredible songwriter who has written some of the most popular country songs recorded. I knew the show would be great, but little did I know I would be blown away. This tops the charts for shows that I have attended. The man played for 4 solid hours, never leaving the stage. About 4-5 other musicians came upon stage to perform, but Mr. Steele hung around and did backup. His band members looked like they were about to fall out towards the end. Here is a video of him singing....I think his live performance defines the work ROCKSTAR!!

Meet 'The Locash Cowboys' a group that if you ever see live or on an interview you can not be helped to be attracted to their charismastic personalities. Forget holding back those chuckles and keeping your feet still-won't happen! Here is an interview they did while doing a show at the Wildhorse Saloon this summer.

..

I should probably mention a few people that aren't musicians huh...A few that I wouldn't pass up chatting with are: Elizabeth Gilbert (she wrote Eat, Pray, Love); JK Rowling (wrote harry potter-how does one imagine such things); Bill Gates (I need a few investment tips); Oprah (who wouldn't want to chat with her); Helen of Troy (was she as beautiful and charming to sail a thousand ships); Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn (two truely beautiful and classic ladies); Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman (I love the Bucket List-read on and you'll know why); Frank Sinatra; and of course the ultimate ONE-Jesus! (wouldn't like to know how his mind works)

Oh, there is one more musician I can't forget, since he is the unproclaimed true love of my live: Bret Michaels. I have some unexplainable fascination with this man and have for years. Rock of Love here I come-if only you can promise not to show me on TV or make a complete idiot out of me in front of all the human race :)
