DA STEVEN AND DA CAPTAIN is a result of sitting amongst a bunch of panic-stricken strangers. I was calm, numb and almost as if i were completely overdosed on valuum. I was Zach Braff and like the movie, i could hear this Hindu prayer song in my dream. It was haunting, eerie and beautiful. It turns out that the song in the movie is a Hindu Prayer to Ganesh. Im not Hindu but in case you are wondering, Ganesh is the elephant god of India who removes all obstacles. I stand up in the midst of the chaos and head for the bathroom. There is a series of loud explosions, screaming and than silence. Now all i hear in my dream is the sound of my plastic bathroom walls skidding down the runway while i’m lying on my back. After a few hundred yards of screeching plastic on runway, i stop, crawl out of my bathroom walls, and stand up completely unharmed and as numb as i was on the plane. DA STEVEN AND DA CAPTAIN always crawl out of the wreckage.
Bring... bring it home? All right, let’s bring it home. If you was hit by a truck and you was lying out there in that gutter dying, and you had time to sing *one* song. Huh? One song that people would remember before you’re dirt. One song that would let God know how you felt about your time here on Earth. One song that would sum you up. You tellin’ me that’s the song you’d sing? That same Jimmy Davis tune we hear on the radio all day, about your peace within, and how it’s real, and how you’re gonna shout it? Or... would you sing somethin’ different. Somethin’ real. Somethin’ *you* felt. Cause I’m telling you right now, that’s the kind of song people want to hear. That’s the kind of song that truly saves people. It ain’t got nothin to do with believin’ in God, Mr. Cash. It has to do with believin’ in yourself.
the ’wild bills surrogate sunrise’ song and ’never take directions from strangers’ song listed above and playing is the result of jeff, john, nathan and myself.
the streets echo the sound "the rodeo will rise again"

DA STEVEN AND DA CAPTAIN also rarely enjoys a good book. the last few good things i have read includes a screenplay by chad meadows, "A room to remember" by Frederick Buechner, "the View from Hawk Mountain" by Michael Harwood and various random Bible chapters. i also read alot of boring finance magazines. i also just started reading "bath time is sooo much fun" to my daughter.
