Outsider forms in Barcelona in 1996. "Groove Along Quietly Vol. 1" is released in 1997 to critical acclaim. "Strange World" is released june 2004. Both members of the band have lived & worked in Edinburgh, Scotland, playing in numerous bands such as "Better ways" & "A Perfect Day for Bananafish." Some of that work has been released in the U.K. ("Standing in the middle", Luna) & in Germany ("In Bed with Marina", Marina records).
Brilliant *****-A brillantly smooth combination of acoustic and other various instruments really relax the listener. The vocals are indeed tremendous in the similarity to the ever so popular band, "Wilco". If you want to be relaxed and have as much fun as I do listening to this CD, purchase it! Tras su paso por Escocia, donde forman parte de diferentes proyectos como Better Ways y A Perfect Day For Bananafish, publicando grabaciones en Gran Bretaña (Standing in the middle - Luna) y Alemania (In Bed with Marina - Marina records), Daniel Dodds y Larry Magrinyà regresan a Barcelona para formar Outsider editando Groove along quietly, Vol. 1. Su segundo disco, Postcards permanece inédito. En 2004 sale al mercado su tercer disco Strange World, con buena recepción por parte de la crítica. Algunas de sus canciones forman parte de la banda sonora de la película Ficció de Cesc Gay.
Avui - 14/7/2004 “Tercer disc –tot i que el segon continua inèdit– d’aquest grup de Barcelona que té un passat a Edimburg, on va germinar el que ara és un discurs musical sense fissures, clàssic, elegant i pulcre. Encara que no ho sembli, aquest disc s’ha enregistrat al barri del Guinardó de Barcelona. I no ho sembla perquè sona genuïnament anglosaxó, a referents tan respectats com Lloyd Cole i Tom Petty. Rock-folk sense estridències,d’arranjaments curosos, cuinat amb el bon ofici de qui ha mamat aquesta música com una herència natural. Esplèndid treball costumista.S.M.F.”
