I am an E. St. Louis native that began singing at around 10 years old. I was in my church choir and school choir. Before I started recording, I took time out to get my feet wet by performing at different venues in my hometown area. I also performed on local cable T.V. in my regional area. I sang with a group named Odyssey, which consisted of four males including myself. While with the group, I learned a lot about harmonies, riffs, and vocal arrangement. I would listen to a lot of old school artist to build my arsenal of runs and notes. I also did the duet thing for about three years and got the opportunity to record my first song out in New York City with an independent company that had worked with Kenny Latimore and Jill Scott. I later came home and started performing at bigger venues. Participating in those types of experiences brought me a lot of exposure and later opened doors. I started opening for National acts such as Chico DeBarge, New Edition, Eight-ball and MJG, Brandy, Carl Thomas, Busta Rhymes, Nelly and the Tics, J-Kwon, Glenn Lewis, Freddie Jackson, I-20, Amerie, and plenty more. In 2002, I auditioned for American Idol and won the local competition out of 9,000 contestants. I was cut before the show started, but it was a great experience and I developed a household name locally. I took some time off to groom myself a little more. After about a year in heavy grooming, I started traveling consistantly back and forth to New York to work with a Grammy Award Winning Songwriter by the name of Rasheem"Kilo"Pugh, who has done a lot of work with the likes of Laren Hill, Faith Evans, Heather Headly, Ghostface, Mr. Vegas, Jazzy Jeff's production Co.(Touch Of Jazz), and many more. He also introduced me to a lot of opportunity to come once we got started developing my previous project "Undeniable". Some of the material that I recorded began to appear on independent film soundtracks and were getting airplay overseas in Britian. I needed more physical exposure, so I tried out for American Idol again in 2004. This time, I was blessed to have made it all the way down to the top 24 cut, out of 120,000 contestants nationwide. What I did appeared in twelve different magazines, in five different countries, and in over 30 million livingrooms. That put miles on my engine. Now, I am performing at different venues all over the U.S. and abroad. I also won the McDonald's R&B Soul Search for E. St. Louis and St. louis. That opened doors for me. I'm currently working on my new single entitled "I Like You," so be on the look out for that in the springtime. IT'S GOING DOWN!!!!!!!!!!
