During the year 1997, four up and coming artists hailing from the Southside of Houston-Texas, stepped out on faith to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Marcus Price, "Moc-3" of New York and Ronnie Oles, "Raw Dog" of Houston, both had dreams and aspirations of working in the music industry. During the middle of 1997, Jay Cole, "Kidd Rocky" made a life changing move from Jonesboro-Arkansas to Houston, where he met "Moc-3". "Moc-3" took and showed him what Houston was all about. From then on they became blood brothers. During a search period of whom they all were as a whole, "Raw Dog" signed up for (JOB CORP.) where he and Chino da Robot, "Lord Capone" a.k.a. "Porky Pacino", became a tag-team duo. This was all after "Chino da Robot" established the "Sick- 4-life Staff & Camp". While steady on the hunt to be given a chance to prove themselves musically, "Raw Dog" crossed paths with Dee Pettway of Note Management & Promotions where they later made arrangements to meet with the other guys. After everyone met, Dee chose to become their manager and they all created the infamous "Southern Gladiators"! It was a long and troublesome road in the beginning, trying to find a solid lock but it all prevailed in the end. The SGs went from cafeteria freestyles, garage studios, and freestyle competitions, to well equipped studios and major calabos. Finally, the SGs went on to sign their first record deal with Cinque Entertainment, Inc. The Southern Gladiators were the first rap group to sign onto the Cinque Entertainment Label and they are CE's first rap group to receive airplay worldwide.
