Myth (definition): Fulfills common social functions, providing a model or charter for human behavior. Myths are used to directly communicate deeper meanings to the consciousness of an individual through symbols and imagery. These symbols and images are directly communicated to the practitioner so that it is not processed by the conditioned mind, but it becomes a direct experience for the practitioner.
This is what The Myth is trying to emulate through music. Telling stories and creating aural imagery which directly speaks of the human condition that is accessible to everyone. The rhythms are intricate and concise. The melodies range from powerful, beautiful, haunting, angry, happy, and more Each song uniquely provokes an emotion that is directly experienced. The lyrics seem to have an energy that is all of their own. No subject is to taboo, as long as it tells a story that is thought provoking and inspires the listener to feel. Subjects such as: Alcoholism, physical abuse, doomed relationships/marriage, the fear of loneliness, the fear of intimacy, religion, self doubt, and more have been topics of The Myths songs.
