Myspace BackgroundsBiographyProphit P.A.N.I.C., a.k.a. Jamal Coleman, hails from Los Angeles California. West Coast living inspired him to begin freestyling at the age of nine. Due to gang violence and drug abuse against friends and family, he was moved to the Inland Empire. At the age of twelve, Prophit joined the Hip- Hop community by writing poetry, writing songs, recording demos, performng, battling, tagging and consistently freestyling whenever the opportunity presented itself. Prophit became known in the IE for freestyling hours on end and not repeating himself and doing calaborations.
His talent helped him build a rapport with many radio stations and professional talent in the Inland Empire and los angeles such as: IE records (Inland Empire Strikes Back Compilation 1999), 99.1 KGGI, 88.3 KUCR, 100.3 KKBT, 96.1 and 88.7 power 106 and countless others.
Prophit expanded his support by battling on radio stations and at venues such as: Elements (LA), Foundations (Ontario), and Project Blowed (LA). Prophit also performed at The Knitting Factory, The Key Club, Club Lingerie, Pomona's Fox Theater, San Bernardino's Sterges Theater, Carnival Cruse Lines, Club Whiskey, The Martini Lounge, Club Larchmont, and Club In Cahoots. These venues have come to know Prophit's performance regiments, his elaborate punch lines, innovative patterns, and particular perspective on life. Prophit pan has opened up for some of hip hops elite like pharoah monch, chino xl, the luniz, neb love, exhibit, de la soul and krs 1 in which krs 1 gave prophit the mic to rip with drez the emcee from black sheep.
In 2003, Prophit founded Burnamusic.com, a web based company for independent artist to showcase their talent, post their events, sell their music, and receive help in any aspect of the musical process. This sites model evolved to what now is corner2corporate.com, where prophit is an executive due to his busines savvy, technological know how, dependability, and his fine tuned ear. Utilizing the internets distribution and services network, the unique tone of his voice, 20 years of daily freestyling, 8 years experience as a certified recording engineer (LARS), 15 years of professional writing experience, and a savvy for business, helped Prophit create the first album of a three part series, Heaven Cent (2003). This album earned Prophit a nomination for the Independent Hip-Hop Artist of the Year in the 14th annual Los Angeles Music awards.
In 2005, Prophit again proved himself worthy by winning the Glen Helen 2005 Anger Management Battles.
