Either or will do.Snack attack leads to arrest BY JEN MARCKINISTAFF WRITER 08/10/2007A 27-year-old city man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly stabbed his brother in the arm during an argument about cake left in a refrigerator. Daniel Smith, of 416 Hickory St., was charged with recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment after police say he took a 6-inch steak knife used to cut the cake and turned it on his brother, David Smith, 24.Officers arrived at 11:34 p.m. to find a bloody knife covered with white frosting and the cake dotted in blood.According to an affidavit, David Smith told police he and his brother were in the kitchen when the dispute began. He asked his brother to leave the cake out of the fridge, but he did not.“It was a snack attack over a regular piece of cake,†Scranton police Sgt. Phil Condron said.David Smith was taken to Community Medical Center, police said. Instead of going home when he was released, he was arrested by police for an outstanding bench warrant for theft by unlawful taking.This is the second stabbing between area siblings in the past month.On July 13, Eric Bartholomew, 17, of 139 Dundaff St., Carbondale, told police he stabbed his brother Joseph Cedeno, while the two were fighting because “he doesn’t like it when his brother wins a fight.â€Contact the writer: [email protected]
