About Me

I think it's no coincidence that I was born 5 days before Halloween; all the weirdos come out on Halloween, so I just made sure I arrived early, :) I'm most commonly called a nerd, a goof, a sweetheart, and a smart-ass, all of which, I admit are true. My favorite one-word description for me is quirky. I'm proud to be a born-and-bred Midwestern girl. The best drive is one where your windows are rolled down, your music's blaring, and you're going about 70 on a country highway. I love sudoku, crossword puzzles, and logic problems. I'm the only person in my immediate family with almost no ability to draw. I have a mardi gras beads collection, no joke. I also collect fuzzy blankets and Snapple caps, because I'm just cool like that. Sleeping is highly underrated in my book. I cry like a baby if I can't find my ipod or lose all my music. Sharpies and duct tape are the two most amusing things ever created; give me both and I'll be entertained for days. I could definitely be considered a jack-of-all-trades but a master of none. Traveling the whole globe sounds really exciting to me. I would love to increase the number of instruments I've played. As of today, I've been classically trained in clarinet and flute and spent at least a little bit of quality time with acoustic guitar, keyboard, upright piano, and who knows how many percussion instruments, lol. I'm a summer bum... I have way too many tank tops, sunglasses, and flip flops for my own good. I'm a hair chameleon and love to change my hair color and style as often as possible. Scruffy guys with nice smiles melt my heart very easily; throw in any kind of guitar or bass and I'm in heaven. I have a flair for witty insults and sarcasm. Well, that should get you started... anything else that needs to be known will just have to come straight from me. This is me saying that if you want to know, you have to not be a chicken and ask, lol.

My Interests

Music and politics are my big two but I have a ton of interests beyond that. Sometimes, I'm not even sure if I know everything that I'm interested in yet!

I'd like to meet:

I love meeting people. There's just something fascinating to me about it... I love to see how my personality meshes and clashes with another person's. Being a bit of a romantic, I would love to meet what people refer to as "the one"... because, yes, for being such a skeptic, I do believe that true love crap isn't crap, lol.Of course, I wouldn't mind meeting this guy, but I figure that might just be a dream...

Music:

Well, being one of my big interests, as you should already know, this is my most important box. I have a very open mind about music and tend to love just about everything. My favorite artists list continually grows and changes, though Incubus has kind of stayed at the top for years, now. I also love to create my own music... after about a 4 year dry streak, I began jotting lyrics and plucking out some keys on my keyboard. I don't know if I'm absolutely incredible at it, but I love to do it, anyway. To give you more of a hint of music I like, here's some examples...

Movies:

While I have a slight preference for romantic comedies, anything from the mind of Mel Brooks, most Adam Sandler movies (I really do stress that most because I've seen some Adam Sandler movies that I'm not too crazy about), and Harry Potter, I'm probably as picky about my movies as I am about my music... which means I'm not picky, in case you forgot already, :P Oh, and I have a preference for Disney animated movies... you know, the good ones that actually go to the theater first, not those silly little sequels they put out on video right away. V for Vendetta and Thank You for Smoking are two I like to recommend by name.This is the best introduction on the face of the earth...

Television:

I love Grey's Anatomy... like I have a sick need to constantly watch that show. It's sad really, lol. I also love Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Cash Cab, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Friends reruns, Boy Meets World reruns, and really a lot of shows, but I don't necessarily need to see them constantly... otherwise, I think I would be a total dorky geek girl with no social life... oh wait, I already am the first part, nevermind! Lol.

Books:

I love to read (Yes, I hear the "nerd alarms" going off, don't worry)! I'm a Harry Potter nerd, so needless to say, I've read all the Harry Potter books more than once. I like to read liberal and conservative critiques on a lot of global and domestic issues (I know, your "nerd alarms" are going off again) because I think it's important to understand as many sides of a problem as you can before you make a huge decision. Those may not always come out as books, but I figure since I'm reading, it counts, lol.

Heroes:
