About Me

Hello. My name is Rick Amburgey and I am 29 years old. I live in Ohio in the Franklin/Carlisle area.I am a 1995 graduate of Carlisle High School and a two-time graduate of Northern Kentucky University. I earned a Bachelors degree in Journalism in 2001 and a Bachelors degree in English Education in 2003.I am a newspaper reporter and I love my job. I'm often found at my favorite hangout - JD Legends is Franklin. Let me count the reasons I love JD Legends - there's a first-class restaurant, a bowling alley, karaoke on weekends, live trivia, NTN trivia, an outdoor tiki bar where live bands play on weekends in the spring/summer, cornhole and sand volleyball courts. It's just the place to be! I am proud to call many of the employees of JD Legends my friends.

My Interests

I am a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes - football and basketball. Go Bucks! I am also a Bengals and a Reds fan. I like some other teams too, but those are my favorites. I am glued to the TV on Saturdays and Sundays during football season. I say that I'm a fan of the game!

I'd like to meet:

Conway Twitty, Chad Johnson, Carson Palmer, Ted Ginn, Jr.

Music:

I like everything, but I am a big country musio fan.

Movies:

I have the Blockbuster Total Access pass, so I watch a LOT of movies. Want to know if one is good or not? Just ask me... chances are I've seen it.

Television:

24, American Idol, Jericho, Close To Home. Just about any sporting event that happens to be on at the time.

Books:

I am a big John Grisham fan. I've also written three novels:)

Heroes:

My parents, my friends and Jesus!

Scales aren't as scary now

I weighed myself and I am now at my lowest weight since my teenage years! I've still got about 75 pounds to go to be in my target range though. But this makes me very happy!

Kinda disappointed with New Orleans Saints. I was hoping they would be awesome and be the spirit on New Orleans this year, but so far they suck! Drew Brees is good, but they aren't on tonight! I hope ...
