Unwavering Band of Light

About Me

My lyrics tend to be political, satirical, and even at times romantic, awww. It's a hybrid of folk, rock, blues, classical and the unknown. 2 major Genres: Folk & Ambient Rock.I come from the dark smoky suburbs of Central Long Island/Suffolk County. I spent 7 years up in New Paltz mellowing like a fine but bitter wine and developing my sound. While there I headed two bands: "Callisto Square" and "HotBed". Now I am living in Manhattan and trying to play as much as I can. If you're reading this and want to book a new act in the genres of either folk, indie or ambient rock (such as I'm calling it) drop me a line.Venues: Bars, concert halls, coffee shops, the street etc. I would also be willing to share a night with one of you other musicians if you have a spot for me. If Im free Ill do it. I also love to collaborate w/ other artists and I improvise on guitar or synth. Current goals include getting my music played on Radio (NPR) making movie soundtracks or contribute to a movie soundtrack and ofcourse play lots of shows all over and finish my albums. Listen to the music and tell me what you think. If you'd like me post additional/new songs or if you'd like a CD w/ many more songs Or If you would like to have any of the lyrics to read, email your request to me & I'll hook you up.

It comes nicely packaged with the amazing, surreal artwork of my friend Thomas Heaphy. Hope you will buy it and let me know what you think!
Influences: Put Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake in a blender with Elliot Smith, Radio Head and Pink Floyd. add some unknown extraterrestrial ingredient from outer space and blend on on high. Garnish with a generous smattering of The Cure and Dead can Dance and Nick Cave, and serve up cold.Additional influences include The Moody Blues, The Velvet Underground, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Joanie Mitchel, Joan Baez, David Bowie, Jimmy Hendrix, Sara MacLaughlin, TOOL and Led Zepplin
Sounds Like: Folk songs and ambient rock. Dark and melencholy at times but bright and humorous at others. I thrash out thoughts and feelings regarding politics, crime, unrequited love, alienation and the all-around human condition. The songs are filled with cinicism, and humor and deprication of self and society. Not to mention, lust, longing and the eternal search for beauty, whatever that is.
