N3ph3w Da DonNephew, nephew yea they screaming his name!. Born Nai-Quawn Anderson ( Jan. 9, 1986) in Queens N.Y., and raised through the city streets of N.Y.C. He explains how music was something he grew up with, a grandmother who wouldn’t let him sleep if he didn’t get his dance moves right, a talented uncle who rapped along with Shyheim ( from Wu-Tang), and a few family members who are producers and DJ’s.
He says he never wanted to be an artist it just came about, says he actually always wanted to be a cook and still does. His writing skills started young writing poems and short stories, but through a friend (Reginald Thompson) he was taught that this were also lyrics. His style, swagger, past, present, and future are all expressed through his Hip Hop, R+B, Pop, and his own style of Swagg music, is what he calls it.After spending a day in the likes of Nephew I began to understand there is a lot to him which strikes interest. He is currently in the studio putting his finishing touches on his upcoming mix tape, hosted by Dj Lazy of Hood Hard Dj’s, Welcome To Greatness Vol .1 dropping in Feb. At the same time working on his album Microphone Fiend planning to drop in the beginning of the summer. He says in order to have a good year in 2008 he has to drop four projects or more, in my opinion this should be easy for some one who quotes “ I do music for many reason, but my biggest is that feeling of accomplishment I get from seeing people move to my music and applauding for me. Sometimes is almost over whelming to me, but at the end of the day it just makes me go back in the studio and record more so I can see it againâ€. He writes is own music, as well as music for others, I don’t think there’s is an concept he cant attack and do something to it. As he says in “ Cant leave rap aloneâ€: straight through your speakers I reach to ya†, its all true his music does just that. I can count a few of his classic to go down in music history. He has a great schedule for 2008, with two of his four projects already complete, along with his independent label F.P. Ent. They have various live performances scheduled for this year , which he quotes ; ‘hitting the stage is never a problem for me , the crowd always stand up for meâ€.Starting off in the music business with Family Productions Entertainment in 2004, which is still his home, Nephew watched his music family grow from one producer two artist and a manager, to a total of thirteen artist, promotions and marketing team, a few producers and so much more. Through it all he still kept the same motivation he says by keeping his goals in mind. His long term goal is to become an icon and make a difference in the music game and world if possible. Every year his short term goal is the same and that’s to do better than the year before in every way shape and form. He says by accomplishing more than the year before to him this is being successful, because if u are at the same spot year after year then really your not on your grind and your not getting any where.“Dow Jones top list Mr. NASDAQ the money keep coming back s***â€â€¦, “make you haters believers/ you no believers religious hatersâ€â€¦, “my feelings have changed we not the same people that’s sitting in the picture frameâ€â€¦, “01-09-86 is my birth 1:30 am pushed into this earthâ€. With some many quotable lines in music I wondered who were his musical influences and he responded with; Shawn Carter, Dwayne Carter, Tupac Shakur, KRS-1, Slick Rick, Rakim, Luther Vandross, Mary J. Blige, Rkelly, Usher, LL Cool J, Big L, there are so many to me because they know how to make music that reaches out to you and that’s the type of music I make. With so much motivation behind him I don’t think he will eva stop making music, I mean you can just tell by the way he hit’s the booth he knows what he wants. Not only does he know what he wants he going to go get it by any means necessary.Ambitious, charismatic, focused, and well business rounded, all of the words that describe Nephew to a tee. He will do very well in each quarter in 2008 as well as his peers. The first release will be in FEB. Welcome To Greatness Vol.1, and others shall follow three more mix tapes and his album. You will be able to catch him in such states as South Carolina, North Carolina , ATL., NY, Washington, and more. Contact Rich Rob at
