This summer, June 21 st to be exact, my family and I will be taking part in Walk in The Park, all in aid of the charity Diabetes UK. Diabetes affects nearly 2 million people in the UK and 194 million worldwide. Currently there is no known cure for diabetes, only treatments to help manage the disease. Complications from diabetes can include kidney failure, heart disease, strokes and even blindness; we need to find a cure as soon as possible!
As some of you may know I’ve had diabetes for 12 years now, some days are easier than others but it’s something that I’ll always be battling against. Diabetes also affects a large part of my family, so the charity is very close to me on a personal level.
Diabetes UK aims to fund as much research into the disease as possible and hopefully one day find a cure.
Taking part in the walk will be...
Chloe, aged 10 at the time of the walk, coolest younger sister on the planet and a cheeky little minx who will talk you to sleep if you give her the chance
Sharon, aged 41 at the time of the walk, outrageous mother with music running through her veins
Tony, aged 47 at the time of the walk, quiet but thoughtful, can often be found playing on the latest war game on his PC
And me, obviously...
So if all of that tugs on a string in your heart then please visit my online fundraising page at –

And make a donation if you wish, any amount small or large will make a difference to the charity. And every penny raised will go directly to Diabetes UK .
Thank you
