About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4Katie Locke, a native of Bradenton, Florida, grew up around music. As her mother was a pianist and her father a singer/guitarist, it is no wonder that she began playing Classical piano at age seven and was singing in local productions by the time she was eight. During her high school years, she taught piano for the Boys and Girls Club’s “Keyboards for Kids” program. She also loved volunteering in the summers alongside her mother, a licensed Kindermusik instructor. In 2005, Katie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. Some of her greatest accomplishments include having sung backup for Grammy-nominee Patti Austin’s “BeboperElla” tour, and released a debut album, entitled "Works for Me," in 2006. Since relocating to NYC, Katie’s band has achieved success in the local circuit, having played popular venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, The Annex, Arlene’s Grocery, The Cutting Room, and many more. You may currently find her teaching piano and voice at Fontaine Music Academy as she continues to live her dream of eating, sleeping, and breathing music!
