I'm turned 46 on June 17th (Go Geminis!! WOO HOO!!) I'm a wife of a great husband who just so happens to be my bestest best friend. I'm the mom of (are you ready?) FIVE kids (Three daughters and one son are mine, one son is Rand's from another marriage.) My kids range in age from 26 down to 8...LOLOL. Yeah, its a trip. I homeschool my kids, but we tend to follow the calendar for our area because so many special events and such are scheduled for the local school's down time. We live in the great little town of Athens, TN (which is alot like living in Pleasantville...and no, I'm not exaggerating.) Its been wonderful raising the kids here because there is always something for us to do as a family. The kids are active in scouting and other community things on a regular basis. I'm personally involved with Free Tibet campaigns (have been for years now), wildlife concerns (from local to international), gardening, travelling, acting, music (singing and playing various instruments), designing websites for businesses and companies, I also run a wholesale log home company which is becoming more popular due to economic factors of late. Soooo....between just my stuff and the kids stuff we tend to be super busy most of the time. Then you throw in Rand's job, as well as the fact that he is a city commissioner involved in several projects and it gets to be a mad house at times. We like to get away for spontaneous family hikes in the nearby mountains, camping trips to Indian Boundary (I LOVE that place!!) as well as dive trips to Mexico a couple times a year. Other than that we have made our home a true sanctuary where we all love to hang out and play and relax (we love to play billiards, video games, board games, play on the trampoline or on the tree swing....family stuff.) We also live two blocks from the skateboard park, the city pool AND a playground so we aren't lacking for things to amuse us. The best news yet is a few months ago a four star chef bought a little restaurant that is also just two blocks from our home and the food completely kicks immortal butt and at an affordable price (so we can just walk to dinner if we want.) Sami and I have regular Chick Flick day, and me and the kids have a weekly trip to Athens Regional Park (a fantastic place to fly our various kites...it also has a killer nature trail and access to a cold water creek that is awesome to wade in when it gets hot.) I love to have fun and I adore meeting people who are crazy and intelligent and spontaneous.
