Many see music as a communication tool. Music communicates the expressions, opinions, beliefs and ideas of many recording artists across the globe. Recording artist Brian Lam achieves just that. In Brians music, he paints pictures that leave the listeners feeling the moods and vibes that his songs are about. He is nothing more than a musician who seeks to inform his audience about life experiences with truthful and passionate musical stylings.
Lam began informing his audience (his family) in his Georgia home at the very young age of nine. It was not until Brian was in his teenage years that he decided to branch out from his family audience and test the waters on fellow friends and acquaintances. Lam saw how his musical capabilities sparked excitement in those around him. This fueled the passion that Brian had for music and inspired him to continue to musically express himself.
In the spring of 2003 everything in Lams life came to a halt. He fell extremely sick with an un-diagnosable illness that left him bedridden and needing constant medical attention. Fighting for several months all he could do was lay in his bed and think about how fatigued he was. The illness left Lam without a voice to sing and energy to perform. It seemed to him as if his ability to live his life for music was snatched from him. Lam fell into a deep depression. He was daily reminded by music in television, movies and on the radio that he was now a mere spectator to the life he once lived. At one point Brian was encouraged by a friend to write down his day-to-day feelings, thoughts and ideas. He spent many days listening to all kinds of music. He began to be musically influenced by the inspirational Christian music industry as well as various pop, country, easy listening and blues artists. It was there in his bed that Lam began to find inspiration for his music.
Brian is healthy and has already written and co-produced two of his own original records. No matter what the situation Lam will continue to saturate himself in all things music with the direct intention to enlighten and inform his audience.
