Steven Flato is a musician who is comfortable in many situations: performing and recording his own compositions, freely improvising, playing self-programmed software patches, deconstructing the guitar, resurrecting garbage/scrapped electronics, and so on. He's dedicated to bridge building between different sides of the musical spectrum: between the abstract and the concrete; between the unnecessarily fragmented microgenres of underground music; and between the "serious", popular, and strange.
