About Me

Well I guess it is about time to change this! Right now I am still at MCB Quantico as an Accident Investigator. I just moved up a little and took the role as the Asst. Accident Investigator Chief. It kinda sucks, because now I don't get to get out and "work the road" so to speak as much. I sit in my office all day and review/correct reports and get all of the annoying and boring phone calls! I am a little confused with my whole career thing. I have a year and three months left on my second enlistment. My heart is set on getting out and working as a police officer, but I just don't know where! A police officer here in VA starts at between 50-60 thousand a year and in two years you get a pay increase of about 6 thousand, not including any over time. I want to go back home in NC and be a police officer, but the pay is no where even close. On the other hand, I like the Military life and the money is not bad. The only down part of that is I am looking to pick up Staff Sergeant next year and once you are an E-6 or above, you basicaly sit in an office and run things. That is not what I want to do. I want to get out there and actually do hands on work. If it wasn't for my kids, I would deploy back to Iraq in a heart beat. Some times I just feel like it's my responsibility! Well, as far as my civilian life goes, I have the most amazing son that I could ever ask for and I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my little girl, that is due October-6. Once she is born, I AM DONE FOR GOOD! I am kinda scared, because I know I am going to be over protective of her. I am already of my son and I can only imagine what it's going to be like with her! I am still doing my fire fighting thing in NC and I miss it more and more every day. I try to go home every couple of months to keep my certification up, but I just feel empty some times not being there to help the guys out. I guess that's life! I miss the single life not being able to go out with my friends as much and the whole party atmosphere. I guess that is gone for good! Once you make that step into marriage life or children, there is no turning back! Your life will change for ever!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I love my son and I would not change it, but for all of you single people out there, "STAY SINGLE" until you are 40!!!!
