I'm not one who deals well with authority figures so I started my own photography business about 6 years ago. I like being the boss. I REALLY don't like being told what to do by someone else. I consider my business to be fairly sucessful but there isn't a whole lot of money to be made in art. And I LOVE to eat. A lot. I must say that the "starving artist" is a look that does not work well on me. So, from Mon-Fri I work as a Document Control Quality Analyst for a company that designs Hydrogen Tanks for cars. I do this strictly to support my eating and traveling addictions. Then on evenings and weekends I get to be a photographer. I love it so much. I hope that one day I will be able to do this full time. I just was not meant to sit in front of a computer all day in a windowless, soul sucking cubicle. I need fresh air and lots of sun!
