About Me

"For any British rock musician, breaking America has always, and will always be the Holy Grail. That’s why I’m here.”
Between 2000 and 2004 Alex Troup and his U.K. Punk band 'Crashland' (Sony) toured the U.K and Europe extensively with the likes of 'The Strokes' and 'Queens of the Stone Age'.
Despite opening Glastonbury festival in 2000 with Coldplay, and playing other major tours and festivals, Troup grew disillusioned with dance music's stranglehold on the U.K club scene, and the subsequent decline in live music. In 2005 he decided it was time to make a change.
"The record label was asleep at the wheel, and Crashland were treading water, so I packed my roots and experiences in my bag and got on a plane. I needed some Californian inspiration."
Troup's self-imposed exile in L.A paid off. Beginning with Irish pubs, and working his way into L.A hotspots (The Viper Room, Club Moscow, The Key Club), as well as playing a buzzing residency at The Cat Club, Troup is turning heads and attracting attention.
The live shows caught the eye of feature film director and visual visionary Brett Leonard (Virtuosity, The Lawnmower Man), with whom Troup has just finished an explosive documentary about his L.A struggles forming a band, making a record, and playing every club in town.
“The Tour Bus is the key to success in America. I've been on stage since I was twelve years old, and it's where I come alive.”
