I'm Crossy (or James to my mum and the taxman)and I play drums. I'm currently playing with the following people/bands: The Cornerstones, Nicol, Ryan Myddleton, Andrea Faithful, Marcus James, Subdiffusion (profile music)Long Live Viv and anything else that crops up along the way, including several radio and tv apperances. I've worked with members of Incogneto,, Twin Method, Bad Company, The Brute Chorus and more recently Diane Charmalagne (Moby, Urban Cookie Collective and Goldie). Last year I supported Finley Quaye's UK tour. Have also supported The Doves and Damian Rice. I cut my teeth playing in various bands including Inviting Fury with some fantastic musicians including Duncan Mackay, James Gliddon, Dave Marrow and and later with Stu Wilkes in Beefsmoker, and not forgetting The Everywhens, The Treefrogs and Jimmy Woodser!. I've been playing drums for about 15 years and have played everything from Live Drum & Bass to folk, in places ranging from Glastonbury to Bangkok... I could tell you that I'm a qualified Scuba diver and used to fly planes, but you wouldn't believe me anyway..Other than that I get by partying and trying to make people laugh (generally at me, not with me) but hey.. we're all along for the ride lets enjoy it!!! The Music I have selected on my profile is a song called Anxiety by Inviting Fury in 2001. It's one of the favourite songs I've ever recorded. Why? 5 guys, playing live, no pro tools, no overdubs. We jammed it in one take.. It still blows my mind how!
