The Subterraneans

Formed by Guitarist Rik Mercaldi & Drummer Mike Roze, and together for over 10 years, playing an eclectic brand of Rock & Roll with influences ranging from '60 British "Mod" to '70's New York Punk as well as a penchant for live improvisation. In 1998 the band released a self titled debut "The Subterraneans" followed by a five song E.P "5 Tracks". The band has appeared on numerous compilations including a Dogs D'Amour Tribute titled "Bullet Proof Poems". Their last CD "Close To Real" was released in 2007. Since the departure of bassist Mike Curry, The Subterraneans name has been retired and Rik Mercaldi & Mike Roze continue to work together in a variety of musical projects.
