The beginning :
DarkRise was first created in Lausanne (Switzerland) in 1998. After one and a half year of composition, the band decided to record his first demo. Slaves of Death is released in May 2000 and gaves the group the importunity to play on stage with bands such as Fleshcrawl and Yattering.
But in 2001, after some good gigs everywhere in Switzerland, DarkRise decided to change drummer because of different motivations and opinions on music. Will be pointed out the fact that the Slave of Death’s 500 demos have all been sold.
Slack period :
Steeve is chosen as new drummer. Unfortunately, professional and Swiss army obligations only allow the band to start creating new stuff in the middle of year 2002. DarkRise only performs four concerts during this year.
In March 2003 DarkRise decided to stop his collaboration with his drummer.The decision being taken three weeks before recording our first album. Massive Retaliation is a pure Death Metal album. For several reasons, Deadsun Records (France) doesn't release it until a year later. Despite the band's will to get back on stage, the absence of drummer makes it difficult, explaining the fact that very few concerts are given.
More experience :
In October 2004, DarkRise started to work with a new drummer called Antoine. In 2005, after we did our first lives out of Switzerland, we recorded our second album in summer 2005. This album called Unbeliever, is released on DeadSun Records in April 2006 and is immediately followed by an European Tour with Impaled Nazarene.
During this Tour, we played in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and Switzerland… This experience was a good way to progress, to have more visibility and contact all around Europe and to become more professional in our music.
In the end of 2006 and in 2007 DarkRise did some goods concerts in Europe. ( France, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland ). We also tried to go again on tour… but we were unlucky because two possibilities of European tour were cancelled.
And now… :
In October 2007, we had some big problems. Because of different reasons, Nico and Antoine left the band. So DarkRise loose his guitarist/vocalist and his drummer. But two of the original members ( Luc and Wil ) decided to continue DarkRise. After some month of searching, the band found a new killer line up: Nicolas, a promising lead guitarist and Guido, an amazing drummer joined DarkRise.
In 2008, the band is working on new great songs. We have already booked the excellent Hertz Studio in Poland for October 2008. So keep in touch, it will sound enormous…/div
