I am here for Dating and Friends

About Me

Well, let's see. When I look at everyone else's webpages, I can't help but think that you all spent hours upon hours making them. I'm a nerd, but I'm not that bad. I guess I am a myspace junkie. I check this thing all the time. I don't nearly get enough messages though. It's nice to go back and see how many people I actually knew who are on here. Brings back a lot of memories. Since I graduated, I joined the Navy. I joined 12 days after I graduated High School. So I can pride my self in the fact the I was probably the first one of my graduating class to leave Redding. I'm still in the Navy, partly because I don't know what I would do if i wasn't. I'm stationed in San Diego now. It's beautiful down here. People say that you get to see a lot of places in the military. That's partially true. I'm a Submariner. For six months of the year, I live and work underwater. I'm a Navigation Electrician. Basically, what I do is tell the sub where it is. It's not as easy as it sounds. Surface ships can utilize GPS for their location. Underwater, it's not as easy. I have to use inertial navigation, and really just an educated guess. It's similar to closing your eyes and walking around the house. Seems simple, right? Well, try walking from your house, to the store down the road. Other things I do are basic electronics. It's not uncommon for me to get electricuted. But shhh... don't tell. It's not suppose to happen. If you want a realistic representation of what submarines are all about, you can watch a submarine movie. While Hunt for Red October, and Crimson Tide have aspects which represent submarines, the closest movie is probably Down Periscope. People on submarines are crazy. And I'm no exception. Places I've been while in the Navy: Connecticut, Washington, Georgia, Canada, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, Singapore, Japan, and Puerto Rico. While I've been to a lot more places than that, these are just the places because of the Navy. I am what the Navy calls a Shellback. I have crossed the Equator. There is a ceremony which you have to go though before you graduate from a Pollywog or Wog, to a Shellback. I can't say much about this ceremony. You'll just have to join the Navy and find out for yourself.
