Going Outside to See
You find yourself drifting again
with trained, unblinking eyes
waiting to find a better reason
to be alive
better than 'to die,'
waiting for some who knows to tell you
'the day is over,' or maybe that 'its begun'
gotta figure out when you lost control
and when the economy won
go outside and search the sky for the sun
They tell you about the wild lands
that they can't seem to keep wild
they talk about the babies out in the deserts
with sand in their eyes
and they tell you 'you should cry'
'cause maybe its you, maybe its you,
and after all, maybe its your fault
I've never been to the mountains,
I've never seen the deserts,
and they tell me its my fault
Well I didn't vote for this
and I can't wait another year
when the red sun is rising now
in a sky the color of my tears
The waiting is over
the people are facing the east
the red sun is rising
and I'm going outside
I'm going outside to see
