Anyone who has been out clubbing at a party somewhere in the world over the last ten years, knowingly or not, will most probably have danced to Haris’ Laus or Ekstreme releases that have been providing both house and techno DJs alike with a steady supply of guaranteed 12†and remix floor-killers.As head of the London based labels Laus and Ekstreme, Haris is a great deal more versatile than your regular dance music producer. Capable of turning his hand to almost any electronic style with strong street credibility through genre-bending productions and collaborations with underground dons such as Terry Francis, MR C and Colin Dale to name a few and has released an impressive number of records on such labels as The End, Swag and many others. In the course of the past decade he has refined his sound into a thick, compulsively funky signature that is simultaneously individual, innovative and accessible, earning him much respect and popularity amongst critics and music fans alike and resulting in numerous releases and an impressive track record. Haris has established himself as a musical innovator, a tech wizard in the electronic music world who has earned his spurs in the music business producing and releasing forward-thinking, micro-edited dance music that blur the common lines between arrangement concepts and musical attitudes in house, techno, progressive and breaks styles.Already in the late 80s, Haris had begun collecting synthesizers and studio equipment that would eventually grow into an advanced setup he uses for crafting his distinct vision of electro acoustic dance music. His extensive knowledge of sound design allows him to lace his music with solid production and impressive attention to detail with which he achieves the rarity of a unique, signature sound. Having worked with very early sequencing software for many years, he has now spent the past four years exploring more experimental areas of electronic music and the depths of software synthesis and DSP (Digital Signal Processing).Besides producing and remixing, Haris has been composing music and designing sounds to picture with his partner Renata, a trained pianist and opera singer, under ‘The Wave Productions' flag. As a duo, they formed ‘SINTEKS’ project in 2007 that brings together elementary powers from two very different musical worlds, a distinct sub-genre mashing up influences of house, techno, combining electronic abstract sounds to create sophisticated electronic beats and crackling sounds yet without losing sight of its organic quality. Together they have pushed their sound and very prolific output into all corners of the music world, from movie and video game soundtracks to remixes released on Global Underground, Laus Music and Dancing Bear.Ås one of the most versatile and productive artists in electronic dance music, Haris always turns out original, quality results, continually proving the flexibility of his talent and crossing as many boundaries as the music itself. Laus is sure to see the release of more good music in the near future.Haris’ unique performance has also secured him gigs at Fabric, Turnmills in London, Pacha in Buenos Aires, Zouk in Singapore, Maniac Love in Tokyo, MTV Electronic Music Festival in Croatia as well as various clubs throughout Europe, USA, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. His original musical work has appeared on a raft of respected record labels The End, Oblong, Get Groovy, Swag, Funk Nose, Detour, Transfusion as well as his own Laus and Ekstreme imprints, he also remixed various artists including Eminem, Royce 59 and Blaze His music has appeared on various CD compilations Justin Robertson Imprint on Distinctive, Chris Fortier Compiled and Unmixed on Bedrock, Doc Martin’s 10 on Fabric and Sancho Panza’s Carnival on My Records to name a few.
