BIOGRAPHY:
A few years ago, at 4 AM in a bar in Brussels, Puggy is formed by the two last paying customers. Frenchman Romain Descampe talks Englishman Matthew Irons into quitting all the bands he is playing in to start their own. An aspirin, a shave and a short drive later, the two meet up with Swede drummer Ziggy and start jamming out what will become Puggy's own sound. Armed with a bunch of tunes they score their first gig in a Brussels club. As the band hits the stage, in walks London based manager Serge Sabahi . Unimpressed with the venue, he invites the trio to visit London, live in an unheated attic and make the most of the local food. Surviving mostly on beer, heat converters and a self produced EP (the cat EP), Puggy fine tunes their live show that gets them invited to perform at
Reading , Leeds and
Benicassim festivals as the only unsigned band to hit the stage.
With this new CV and out of Money, the band returns to Brussels to record their first full length album. June 2007
"Dubois Died Today" is released on Talkieo Records.
A few months later, Puggy plays Couleur Café where they set the festival on fire.
The show is partly filmed and shown in a loop on music channel MCM bringing Puggy right into Mike Einziger 's ( Incubus ' guitarist) hotel room. A few emails later Puggy is opening for Incubus on their entire European tour. A few months after that, Puggy get invited again to open for an American band. This time the venue is Bercy and the band is The Smashing Pumpkins .
With all this experience gained, Puggy go on to play sold out shows in Belgium, France and England. A full French tour is also in the works with English band Fiction plane for March 2008. They are now touring heavily and working on the next record that will be released as soon as they write it.
