Ello! This page was set up by me as a tribute to a band that most people don't know about or are ashamed to admit they like - The original, the controversial, the confusing tribute to the Sex Pistols, formed by Dave Goodman in the 80s - The Ex Pistols. For a few years I've been looking into the history of the band and collecting the records, and this page was created as a result of everything I've found out.
The Ex Pistols were a mish-mash of session musicians and various artists, including the likes of Glen Matlock, Paul Cook and Steve Jones who helped perform some songs.
The band have confused a lot of Pistols fans over time because of their songs being performed to sound like Sex Pistols recordings (thanks to Dave Goodman's trademark interest in bootlegging after the Pistols disbanded). Though not really a solid band, and not approved of by a lot of Pistols fans, this MySpace page is here for any fans of the Ex Pistols music, or for anyone who really ever wondered why the Sex Pistols never released 'Schools Are Prisons'. Why? Because it wasn't by the Sex Pistols!
