i've been writing songs since 1980/"i cant take it no more
i cant take it no more
so i'm walking out the door"/i dont remember anymore of it/
i was 10/i've been making beats since 1986/i had a boss dr55 drum machine/
and a turntable/
i would program a beat and then scratch bits of my mom's mostly country records/
train whistling harmonicas are fun to scratch/i got my first sampler in 1990/a Roland s10 sampling keyboard/
it had 8 seconds(32 lofi seconds) sampling time spread across four banks/
a yamaha dx100 synth/
a boss dr550II drum machine/
and a yamaha qx1 sequencer/
i learned the art of MIDI/sequencing was easy it was just like programming on a drum machine/
assign dots(notes) to a graph/MIDI is a musical interface language/
it allowed you to daisy chain your instruments/
your sequencer becomes your master /
and the rest become slave instruments/so when you sequence you tell our drum machine to play this beat/
and your synth to play these notes/
and trigger these samples at the appropriate times/the possibilities were endless/
until you ran out of sample time/i continued to write songs to these beats/
i never considered myself a rapper/
i'm definately hip hop/
i mainly wrote LYING LOVE songs/
and tried to sell em for pussy/
the few buyers usually left after they realized i was a liar/i got married in 1996/
and became a gangsta rapper/
for 3 months until she told me i had to get rid of the guns/
and stop wearing flannel/
she was probably right so i guess i'll write more love songs/
but just sing them bitterly/in 1997/
as DR CALICOâ„¢ i form the group TAKE93â„¢
with rockabilly superstar RON MONEYâ„¢/
SCI-FI samples to the backdrop of extreme rockabilly acoustic/
did i mention i had a wah wah pedal/1999 i wrote the best song ever written/
but i'm never gonna sing it/now its 2008 /
i sample from my IPODâ„¢nano/
to my TEXAS INSTRUMENTSâ„¢ calculator/
i then bargraph a sequence/
and send it to my computer/
where it tells all of my virtual instruments/
and bootleg patches/
what notes to play what drum sounds to play/
and best of all/
more sample space than 32 seconds/my current song writing style is FUCK YOU songs/
which vary greatly in style and length
but seldom stray in meaning/i don't like pets/the straight GEORGE MICHAELâ„¢ of rap/
-DRUNK PRIESTâ„¢
