Currently engaged in heavily processed/looped guitar in conjunction with comrade Jim Coker , armed with an Powerbook and groovy sequencing software called Numerology . This duo has organically morphed itself into a structural unit called Acids & Bases and has focused on improvisation, ambient soundscapes and noisy interludes. Being a mapping programmer in my day job , I was pleased when my friend Dave Gutierrez dubbed these explorations "sonic cartography".
On the flip side, for the last few years I have been playing (and learning) mandolin with the Rivet Gang , a quasi bluegrass outfit with influences as diverse as; Social Distortion, the Stooges, Brian Eno and Dylan. Playing mostly original tunes interspersed with unusual covers, we are having a blast getting out there and playing the dives around Albuquerque.
Previous to these musical endeavors, I was in the punk trio dimBulb , which rumbled the foundations of many a local self-storage locker between 1990 and 1998.
